Kata Tjuta 12/8/2010

More rocks in the distance.
Kata Tjuta or the Olgas
Completely different type of rock and shapes.
over 50 domes make up Kata Tjuta.
a short walk takes us up in between 2 domes.
very steep walls.
great colour.
This formation is made up from a conglomerate, dating back over 100 million years.
A 6 km walk takes us around one of the domes .
much more interesting than Uluru.
more plant life and great views.
lush greenery in pockets where there is a watertrap.
and up in between the domes, quite steep climb up and back down the other side.
the outlook is well worth it.
This is called the valley of the wind.
another group of domes behind.
looks dry again out in the open.
and back through here
at the end of the loop
