Views like this are around every corner. Looks so pretty. and then you find these Cassowary along the road. and of course the appropriate road signs. and plenty of speed bumps. But who would want to go fast through this area???

Daintree

The smiling welcome to the Daintree! The Daintree river Looks nice enough to swim in. Maybe not. A Python warming up. A green tree snake resting. And another reason for not swimming here. The estuarine Crocodile.

Cairns - Crystal cascades

Crystal Cascades a bit of a scramble not an easy path. CAUTION! With This Plant: The Stinging Tree Will cause severe pain when touched. The pain will last for a long time, Lorraine found out the hard way, as she brushed against one.

Hull Heads

Looks very nice, but full of Crocs. Hull Heads a good spot to camp cheap. Could be good for fishing too.

Balgal Beach - Free Camping

Fishermans Landing Balgal Beach Just behind it is the free camp! Definitely NO swimming without a stinger suit from here on up! A live Box Jelly fish (Chinorex)

Ravenswood - Historic Mining Town

Ravenswood Showground camp The Imperial Hotel Ravenswood Dating back to the Gold rush! Beautiful Timber double sided Bar. Stained glass partition. And a grand wooden staircase. Jack and Don hanging out at the Imperial Hotel.

Bowen - Sunsets

That was great for a sunset on the east coast! And the next day even better!

Bowen - Horseshoe Bay

Well now here is a gem of a place. Horseshoe Bay :) Just arrived at the camp site. Look Palms and that blue stuff right behind! This could be a great camping spot. Looking  at the view from under the awning! What a spot!

Airlie Beach

Airlie beach The place is no longer a sleepy little town. On the Way to see the sights of the islands. This is the Whitehaven beach as we approach. It could be a great spot, but it is overrun by tourists. Daydream Island They Do have Meermaids!
